Israel Vs. Palestine - Will this saga ever end?

I’ve wanted to write about Israel’s invasion for the past few days, but my thoughts were all muddled up. Thoughts were muddled up by people who do not really comprehend the concept of peace especially in the situation of Israel Vs. the Arab World. Thoughts of people who do not understand that Israel’s patience has worn thin, from all this fighting and countless casualties that go with it.

And now the UN council is proposing a ceasefire. Are you kidding me?

People, for once, take off that rose-colored lens of yours and look around you. It’s time to get real. In an ideal world, we’d all love to get along, but then you’re going to have people who oppose each other.

And war is normally declared when both sides find no point in negotiating or compromise anymore. Remember the saying: All is fair in love and war. And there is no love lost between the two sides.

In my opinion, if the Hamas really wanted to negotiate, we wouldn’t see what’s happening now.

It’s pretty obvious what the Hamas’ [and the rest of the Arab world’s] bottom line really is... the total annihilation of the State of Israel. And they will use any means necessary to this end.

I’m not trigger-happy but what I do know is that this is a war that has waged ever since Israel came into power. And we’re suddenly concerned about “collateral damage” now?

Remember the “Munich Olympics”? What did those poor athletes have to do with politics or terrorism?

The Arab world has made sure that for all these years, the pressure is kept on Israel, either diplomatically, guerrilla warfare or by terrorism.

Legend has it that when two Latinos fight each other in a boxing match, the match never ends as both sides refuse to quit until one drops unconscious or dead. A ceasefire in this kind of combat is really like a timeout in a boxing match between two Latinos. Both sides have enough hatred, angst and animosity that can keep them going for years.

All a ceasefire does, is allow both sides some time to recuperate, rally their men, indulge in trash-talk and make tall claims using the local and international media and then... it’s time to get ready for the next round.

I think Israel has understood this pattern very clearly and is taking very clear-cut & aggressive steps to decimate the Hamas once and for all. And in my opinion, rightly so.

This is also why Israel wants nothing to do with the whole ‘truce’ business because all it has really seen is unnecessary war and bloodshed for God knows how long. And if you and I belonged to the State of Israel, our response would be just the same. Time to uproot the entire Hamas

These terrorists aren’t Muslims. They’re using their religion as a mask to cover the s*** that they’re doing. It’s as simple as that. What a shame for the rest of the Muslim community? How should they feel about their own performing such ghastly deeds? Can you imagine how it must be for them who are so devout in their faith?

It’s a travesty! Wait... No... I’d rather call it ‘haraam’ as the Muslims would.

You see, I am pro-Jewish but I don’t think this has anything to do with a clash of religious or ideological principles. It’s a matter of territorial markings and a genuine distrust that both sides have for each other due to the past history between them. And it’s their cross to bear.

To me, it’s a regional and political issue and must be handled by the people who are in that region. Like I said, I’m not trigger-happy, but sometimes you just have to take action minus the kid-gloves.

I think it is a wasted exercise to point fingers but truly if you do put yourself in an Israeli’s shoes, I won’t be surprised if you’ve already checked into boot camp at this point to go to war.

At the end of it all, Israel will complete what it began a couple of days ago, till it achieves its objectives as clearly stated by its diplomats.

Until then the world can do nothing but watch with bated breath... shock, horror and disgust... pick your own phrase... as Israel exterminates the Hamas plague in an emotionally detached, methodical and effective manner.

Oh, yes and I almost forgot, the Gaza strip will indeed turn into a graveyard with a mass funeral befitting the likes of the Hamas!

For those who live by the sword, shall DIE by the sword...

Territorial, but it’s still rooted in religion..

A few paragraphs from Hamas’ Charter:

”Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”

”The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. ”

”There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors.”

And this is why I’m in favor of Israel going to war... that’s the only way that this will end...

Although, I don’t think that the non-militant Muslims really want Israel’s downfall...

If they do, it doesn’t matter because Israel will do what it has to get done to rid itself of this irritation.

Well, it has to go to WAR for LASTING PEACE... How ironic?

Daniel , excuse me for my unawareness, but I would love to have some facts about the casualties you are talking in the first para.
I know you have used the word countless, but still I would be grateful if you can give me some tentative figure.. like more than 1000,more than 100 , more than 50 , more than 10 , or .. something.. anything ..

I would be grateful

C’mon Arjun... this is like asking me to tell you how many stars there are in the sky above. The point I’m trying to make is that Israel has been taunted and messed around with ever since its Independence since 1948 by the Arab World. For God knows what reasons they’re not recognized as a State till this very day... and trust me, the numbers in deaths are countless on both sides. But why I’m with Israel is because they’re not the ones with an agenda to take anyone out... their agenda is self-preservation. If I had the accurate numbers of the death toll since 1948, I would have definitely written them here... without a doubt!

Israel is not recognized as a state ! By whom ? And the number i wanted to know was not because I don’t believe in the human life, but because people try to justify Israel’s attack because of casualties. As far as i know the latest attacks are going on because Hamas has been firing rockets .. yes .. and as far as i know it has officially killed only one .. In retallition the peace loving Israel has attacked and killed till yesterday some 869 ” terrorists” including unborn baby to 87 year old terrorist. ’ Anyway I hope no one succeeds in telling Israel ”moral principles” as its PM told the world.. And whatever we may say killings will happen.. so i hope whatever you are saying is right.. At least than i can justify myself that a day old baby death is justified.

It’s feedback well taken and I’ll remember to put numbers, stats in blogs from here on when it comes to generalization based topics such as this. I guess it’s important for some people to know these things. :) Thanks buddy.

Ok. Let’s take a chill pill here. Haha. I understand that these are events that we can do without and are inhumane... but it is war... and the best part is that neither of us know the entire truth. For which both sides have to be held responsible. In any case, the Hamas are doing a good job of hiding amongst the children and women. Some people call it urban warfare. And do you think the Israelis care if another 1000 people die?

They don’t. They’ve lived in fear of being attacked for so long now and that is just as bad as being attacked. And I’m not justifying the fact that they don’t either.

My thoughts here are: Let them fight it out. I guess that’s what they BOTH want. [Read Incognito’s comment above] Neither side is willing to listen to the International community and the women and children are dying because of this. It sucks but that’s how it goes.

Daniel if you think that both sides are wrong by not listening to International
community then I am with you .

But , correct me if I am wrong, you yourself said in the 2 para: ” And now the UN council is proposing a ceasefire. Are you kidding me?”

I agree that both should stop , but i beg to disagree with your point in the article.

Maybe I have got it wrong.

If you disagree, that’s really how you look at things. No problem. I understand that everyone has a value system by which they make their judgments. I’m not infringing on your rights to state your opinion, so kindly make an effort to return the favor.

Where was the peacekeeping process when the Hamas were shooting their homemade rockets into Israel? It was the 10th day in the war when the UN finally woke up. That’s a joke. These people are highly strung and they won’t tolerate it anymore. The peacekeeping process will only buy time for a future confrontation like the last one as it’s crossed a point of insanity NOW. And neither side will back out unless there is a final conclusion by force. The Hamas wants the destruction of Israel and that is totally unacceptable. [Read Incognito’s comment above] And they’ve supported that statement, by shooting rockets into Israel. They have absolutely no right to do that regardless of whether only one or two people died or were injured. Period!

If that’s fine with you, then you’re right, buddy. Have fun! :)

Hi Daniel.

”At the end of it all, Israel will complete what it began a couple of days ago, till it achieves its objectives as clearly stated by its diplomats.”
Sure as it is we have o sit back and watch but how many innocent people/kids will die before this end comes.

Well, war sucks but this is what happens when two sides can’t co-exist and have to fight till the end. Israel has no other solution to the problem other than going in and getting rid of these people... or it puts Israeli lives at stake... sure, it’s crazy that young children and women die with all the air strikes... but if the Hamas really cared about their own women and children they would call a lasting truce... and they don’t want that either... do they? Both the Israelis and the Hamas should be blamed for it... not just Israel!

I don’t like this myself but sometimes people choose to learn it the hard way! Much like the Mumbai attacks was such a hard pill to swallow. These are the harsh times we live in.
